This is a prosecutor based victim rights office that assists victims through notification of court dates, referrals to additional services as needed, impact statements, orders of protection/harassment, and requests for restitution. Services of Court Advocates are used when victims need assistance in court for initial appearances and all succeeding court dates. The Crisis Intervention team responds to crisis calls from the local police department, fire department, hospital, sheriff’s department and the Federal Park Service for trauma counseling at the scene.

Havasu Abuse Victim Education Network (HAVEN)

The H.A.V.E.N. Center provides services for child and adult victims of abuse, domestic violence or sexual assault. Victims have the opportunity to obtain a variety of crisis services in one location, with all agencies working together in the best interest of the victim.

Interagency Council

The Interagency Council is a non-profit social service agency providing a wide array of services to victims, including 24-hour crisis intervention, court advocacy for initial appearances, status hearings, obtaining orders of protection and hearings if requested, referral and resource information, emergency shelter, transitional housing, individual and group counseling, family counseling and children’s groups. Also, through the 24-hour crisis line, domestic violence counselors are available by pager to assist with emergency situations.

Kingman Aid to Abused People (KAAP)

KAAP has served Kingman, Mohave County and adjacent areas in the Northwestern corner of Arizona since 1985. We are committed to providing support to the family in crisis and preserving family unity free from violence. Services include: 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, residential program, crisis counseling, advocacy, and children’s program with no fee for services.

Lake Havasu City Attorney’s Office – Victim Assistance Program

The Lake Havasu City Attorney’s Office’s VAP based in the Prosecutor’s Office provides assistance to victims of misdemeanor crimes within the jurisdiction of the Lake Havasu City Municipal Court. Services provided include, but are not limited to: information of constitutional and statutory rights as a crime victim; the criminal justice system and how it works; notification of hearings and case status; assistance in filling out forms for restitution and victim compensation claims; community/social service referrals; court advocacy and accompaniment to court hearings, to include transportation if needed.

Mohave County Attorney’s Victim Witness Program/Sarah's House

The Mohave County Attorney’s Office established a Victim/Witness Program in 1990. In January 2000, the Victim/Witness Program moved to Sarah's House - Victim Center. Sarah's House is designed to assist victims of crime by offering services at the Center. Services include crisis intervention, emergency shelter, damage repair/replacement, emergency transportation, mental health referrals, victim compensation and victims rights notification, domestic violence court advocacy, and assistance in filling out and filing orders of protection.

Sarah's House offers agencies such as law enforcement, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Service, the availability of two separate interview rooms with video and audio taping capabilities, a children's playroom, and medical exam room equipped with state of the art medical equipment in order to conduct rape and child molest exams in a quiet and safe environment and offers victims the privacy they so desperately need following the crime.
